Greatest. Weekend. Ever.

I left the office in D.C. Friday night at 6:00pm and got back in the office this morning (Monday) at 9:00 am.  In between, this happened:

And, as Sunday drew to a close, I cashed this:

. . . which [nearly] paid for dinner here:

. . . and followed it up with a few glasses of Malbec here:

. . . and then hit McCarren for the Red Eye back to D.C. at 11:59 pm.

After sleeping a grand total of ZERO (0) hours Saturday night, I was asleep before the plane left the gate . . .

Not a bad way to spend a weekend.

  1. Very cool! Awesome weekend. I'm very jealous. Wifey and I are planning a 1-night getaway to Dover Downs on Thursday, so at least I'll have one night...

Welcome back to the cold DC!

    1. Curious to hear what the poker room is like in Dover on a Thursday night. I sort of like playing there, at least on a Saturday night when they get 5 or 6 $1/2 tables going.

    2. I'll report; don't know how much seat time I'll get rather than sexy time :-).

    3. There's a great restaurant not too far from the Casino in Dover. You should take the wife there. It's nice, but not TOO fancy. It's called Appleby's . . .

    4. How do you spell that? A-p-p-... Does this place require reservations? Would it get her... "in the mood" if you know what I mean?

    5. Go get a room PM!

If there are no games DP is only a 30-40 minute drive.

P Cube, what a change in the tone between your last two reports. I liked the picture TR.

    7. In one of my visits to CT, I played the DW machine near the poker room waiting for a seat. I played 5 coins (25c) and the board came like this:

      Jd Qd 2 2 X

I held the 4 to royal and redrew and got a 3 of spades and got paid for three of a kind.

Same thing after a few hands
      6s 3s 4s 2 X

Any spade, Any 5 (except 5sp), Any 7 (except 7sp) for a moderate win.
      Any 2, 5s, 7s for a big win.

The redraw came with a 3d for three of a kind.

      That machine is cursed!

    8. VP can be an infuriating game . . . and costly (usually). I was playing all over town, including Bellagio (where I hit the 5 aces on deuces bonus) and MGM Grand (hit 4 aces at the bar at centrifuge).

VP is one of many leaks. Especially when I'm betting baseball. I'll win $100 on the game, but lose $150 playing VP while watching the game.

Yeah, I sort o suck at gambling.

P.S. CT has the WORST VP machines anywhere. I refuse to even play them.

Maryland Live! on the other hand . . .

  5. Yeah -- I already texted you about how jealous this post made me. Not to mention that you and a few others have fueled the video poker desire I now have.

Tell us -- how was the concert?

  6. Stones were surprisingly good. Lots of energy. Amazing that they can still do what they do. I last saw them at Shea Stadium over 20 years ago. I figure this was the last chance!

As for the VP.... I stopped by Mryland live on the way home from the O's game Saturday. Was playing 10-handed triple bonus at the Bar ... Got dealt 3383J. Held the 3's and hit 3343 on one of the ten hands. Paid 800 to 1. Those are the hands that keep you playing!
